A few thousands of people, open stores, some lines...
It's the launch of a new game, called "Halo: Combat Evolved". 

Groups of fans and people interested in this new title, enter stores like Gamestop, Blockbuster, even Walmart looking for this game. 

For the fans, this was the beginning of one of the most recognized, beloved, and nostalgic franchises in the world, and no one saw it coming.

Halo is one of the most famous video game franchises in history. As recognizable as Call of Duty, Doom, Age of Empires, etc. It revolutionized shooter games through an innovative story, unparalleled gameplay, literal masterclass quality music, memorable multiplayer and co-op, and an unforgettable, deep, well narrated, and atmospherical intense story. Thanks to the success of Halo, spin-offs, books, novels, guides, animated series, live-action series, movies, comics, conventions, and other media have been created. 

As you might already notice, Halo is a pretty big franchise, with a wide variety of media and a remarkably large community, and it being part of a ton of people's childhood, but...

What is it based on?

                                               

Aliens, supersoldiers, and science fiction is one way to describe the premise of halo, it might seem generic but halo is so much more than that.

Halo brings inspiration from Ringworld, however, the Halo universe is a huge world with a gigantic amount of side stories, timelines, and general history, working on the basis that Joe Staten, the creative director of most halo games, had imagined.

The story of humanity's survival in 2552 in the face of a totally superior and terrifying enemy, the discovery of an ancestral installation, "The Halo" and the discovery, curiosity, truths, and ancestry that are carried through the story is simply incredible. It is a world that, when you experience it, is something that invokes curiosity and wonder. This is one of the most recognizable aspects of Halo, its originality and ease of automatically recognizing something that belongs to this universe. The Halo rings, the Covenant factions, UNSC, the weapons, the vehicles, the history, the secrets of humanity, the Covenant alien faction, ancient secrets of ancient species, and the horror that goes with them; all of this makes the Halo universe and story so real and memorable for everyone who has experienced it.
